How to Book a Limousine: A Step-by-Step Checklist

Published 08/30/2026 · The Limousine List Team

Booking a limousine is straightforward once you know what to ask. This checklist keeps the process quick and prevents the small miscommunications that cause day-of problems.

1. Shortlist Two or Three Companies

On your city page or the directory, filter by service and vehicle type, then check that each company's service area covers both your pickup and drop-off locations. Read recent reviews for patterns, not one-offs.

2. Request a Detailed Quote

Give each company the same information so quotes are comparable:

  • Exact pickup and drop-off addresses (and any stops in between).
  • Date, time, and number of passengers and bags.
  • For airport trips: flight number, airline, and terminal.
  • Vehicle preference, or ask them to recommend one for your group size.

3. Compare on More Than Price

Look at what's included: gratuity, tolls, airport fees, meet-and-greet, and wait time. A slightly higher all-in quote often beats a low base rate with add-ons stacked on top.

4. Confirm the Details in Writing

  • The flat rate or hourly minimum.
  • The cancellation and change policy, and any deposit.
  • The vehicle type and passenger capacity.
  • The driver's contact number for the day of travel.

5. On the Day

Be ready a few minutes early. For a meet-and-greet arrival, head to the agreed area after baggage claim and look for your name sign. For curbside, watch for the driver's text and go to the specified pickup point. Keep the driver's number handy in case plans change.

That's it — start comparing companies.
